The decoration at the hotel was lovely, with a warm and cozy atmosphere that made me feel right at home. The common areas were well-maintained, and I appreciate that the hotel took into consideration the needs of senior people like myself. The accessibility was excellent, with ramps and handrails in place to make it easy to navigate around the hotel.
I would have liked to see the children working there be a bit more attentive to the needs of senior guests. A little more assistance and kindness would have made my vacation even better.

Location was absolutely fantastic, being so close to Lake Tekapo. the rooms were spacious, feeling more roomy than a kangaroo pouch! I never felt cramped, even with all my gear. the bathroom can get a bit crowded during peak shower hours, so timing is key.
Bulbs are broken in common areas.

I got great value for my money with a soft and comfortable bed in a spacious room. The location was ideal and the staff at this hostel were incredibly welcoming and helpful.
The only thing that could have made breakfast better was if there were more variety of options available.

We had a fantastic stay! The staff were friendly and accommodating, even keeping our luggage for us before check-in. The room was spacious and well-lit, with a soft and comfortable bed. The hotel facilities were excellent, with a fully equipped kitchen and even SKY TV. The cleanliness was top-notch, including the lounge, kitchen, and toilets. The location was perfect, right near all the restaurants and the only grocery store in town.
Not one thing.

I recently stayed at a small, friendly hostel in Tekapo. The staff were welcoming and accommodating, keeping the place open just for us. Our room was well-lit and cozy, with a heater already on when we arrived. The central location was perfect, near all the restaurants and the town's only grocery store. Despite being in the heart of everything, it was surprisingly peaceful and quiet. The room was spacious with comfortable beds, and the added skylight brought in natural light. The hostel had a warm and familiar atmosphere, and they even let me check in early and extend my stay. a great experience.
Strongly recommend this hotel.

The location of the hotel is convenient, with plenty of food options nearby and easy access to Lake Tekapo. the staff are friendly and accommodating, offering to keep luggage for early arrivals. the rooms have a great feature of a sky light, providing ample natural light.
The shared areas such as the kitchen, bathrooms, and hall are dark and dingy, in need of renovation.

Stay In Tekapo Backpackers has a shared lounge, a garden, BBQ facilities, and free WiFi. Wow, such a generous offering! It's like a 5-star resort, but without the luxury or service.
I just loved how the nearest airport was 40 km away. Such a convenient location for a backpacker to easily access.

The decoration at the hotel was lovely, with a cozy and homely atmosphere. The common areas were well-maintained and accessible for senior people like me. It was easy to navigate around the hotel, making my stay comfortable and enjoyable.
A better vacation for senior people would have been possible if the children working there were more attentive to the needs of older guests.

I absolutely adored the cozy and charming atmosphere of Stay In Tekapo Backpackers. The decor had a lovely rustic feel, with warm colors and cozy furnishings that made me feel right at home. The common areas were spacious and well-maintained, making it easy for us senior folks to navigate and find a comfortable spot to relax. The hotel's accessibility was also top-notch, with everything conveniently located on one floor and easy paths to navigate. It was such a relief to be able to move around without any hassle or discomfort.
The only thing I would suggest for a better vacation for senior people is a bit more assistance from the staff. While the children working there were friendly and accommodating, there were times when they seemed overwhelmed and unable to address all our needs.

Stay In Tekapo Backpackers was a great budget option for our stay in Tekapo. The location was good and the room was warm, providing a comfortable stay. The beds were clean and comfortable, allowing for a good night's sleep. The kitchen was well equipped, making it easy for us to cook our own meals.
Although there were a few drawbacks such as the limited number of showers and toilets, and the lack of parking, overall I would recommend Stay In Tekapo Backpackers for its affordability and convenient location.

During my Easter stay, I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of the bedsheets and towels in the room. They were of great quality and made our stay comfortable. Additionally, the shower and bathroom facilities were well-maintained, and there was always a clean mat available to dry the floor. Another advantage of staying here was the functional kitchen, which supplied hot chocolate, tea, coffee, and milk. It was a great way to start the day!
There were a few negative aspects to our stay. the common space felt crowded and suffocating.
